These terms govern the use of leclat.gr and purchases from the L’Éclat Candles online store. Please read them before placing your order. Mandatory consumer rights apply regardless of these terms.

2. Products and handmade creations
The main features, dimensions, quantities and price are listed on each product page. Handmade creations may have minor differences in colour, surface or decoration. Photographs show the appearance of the products as accurately as possible, while screen settings may affect colours. This does not limit our obligation to deliver products that match their description and what was agreed.
For personalised creations, the choices, text, design, quantity, final price and delivery time are agreed before production. Please check the details you approve carefully.
3. Customer account
You may shop as a guest or create an account to manage your details and view your order history. Provide accurate information and keep your password confidential. Let us know if you suspect unauthorised access. Registration does not automatically constitute consent to promotional emails.
4. Placing and confirming an order
Choose your products and quantities, review your basket and enter your details. Before submitting, check the total charge, delivery costs, payment method and any special arrangements. The final order with an obligation to pay is placed using the corresponding checkout button.
The automated acknowledgement confirms that we have received your request. We will contact you if an item is unavailable or clarification is needed. We do not substitute products or increase the agreed charge without your consent. If an order cannot be fulfilled, we will inform you and refund any amount paid for the undeliverable part without undue delay.
5. Prices and payments
Prices are shown in euros and include applicable VAT for consumer purchases. Quantity discounts apply according to the terms displayed on the product page and in the basket. The final amount payable and available payment methods must be known before a binding order is submitted. Additional services are not charged without your express choice.
If you request a business invoice, please provide accurate billing details. Special orders, deposits and final payments are governed only by the specific arrangement communicated to you before acceptance.
6. Delivery and shipping costs
Available delivery areas, delivery method, shipping costs and estimated timing are communicated during purchase or in the specific quotation. Production time for made-to-order products is agreed separately. Unless another time has been agreed, the statutory delivery period of up to 30 days from conclusion of the contract applies.
Contact us in the event of delay. Where the legal conditions are met, you may set a reasonable additional deadline and, if it is not met, terminate the contract and receive a refund. The relevant statutory exceptions apply where delivery on a specific date is essential or delivery is refused.
The risk of loss or damage passes when you or the person you nominate receives the goods, in accordance with the law. If you notice damage, an error or a missing item, inform us and, if possible, send photographs. Prompt notification helps us investigate and does not impose a restrictive deadline on your legal rights.
7. Changes or cancellation before dispatch
Send your order number and request to info@leclat.gr as soon as possible. We will check whether preparation can be changed or stopped. Statutory withdrawal rights remain in effect for products covered by those rights.
8. Right of withdrawal
For distance purchases covered by the right of withdrawal, consumers may withdraw without giving a reason within 14 calendar days of receipt. If products from one order are delivered separately, the period is calculated from receipt of the last product, as provided by law.
To exercise this right, send a clear statement to info@leclat.gr or our address before the deadline expires. You may use the form below, but this is not mandatory. Exercising the right does not require prior approval from the store.
Return the products without undue delay and within 14 days of notifying us of withdrawal. Package them securely. You bear the direct return costs for a simple withdrawal unless otherwise agreed or unless you were not informed beforehand as required by law. For defective or incorrect products, the store bears the necessary costs of remedy.
We refund payments covered by withdrawal, including the cost of standard delivery where applicable, within 14 days of notification. We do not refund the extra cost of a more expensive delivery method chosen instead of the least expensive standard option. Refunds use the same payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, at no cost to you. We may withhold a refund until we receive the goods or proof of return, whichever occurs first, unless we have offered to collect them.
You may be liable for diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods. Test-burning a candle, for example, goes beyond simple visual inspection. The absence of the original packaging does not automatically remove the right of withdrawal.
9. Personalised products
The right of withdrawal without a reason does not apply to goods made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised, where the legal conditions are met — for example, a creation bearing a specific personal name or design. The relevant exception is communicated before purchase. Being handmade or produced after an order is placed is not by itself sufficient for an exemption. Rights relating to defects or lack of conformity remain in effect.
10. Defective or non-conforming products
Products must match their description, agreed characteristics and legal requirements. Statutory protection against lack of conformity applies; for movable goods, the seller is generally liable for two years under applicable law. If a problem arises, contact us with your purchase details and a description.
Subject to the legal conditions, you are entitled to a remedy or replacement free of charge and, where applicable, a price reduction or termination of the contract. References to handmade variations, packaging or instructions do not exclude these rights. Statutory protection is not a promise that a consumable product will last two years regardless of use.
11. Safe use
Follow the labels and instructions for the specific product. Candles and fragrance products are not food. Never leave a burning candle unattended; keep it away from children, pets and flammable materials and use a suitable stable, heat-resistant surface. These instructions supplement each product’s specific warnings.
12. Personal data and content
The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy and the use of cookies in the Cookie Policy. The store’s content, photographs and distinctive signs are protected by applicable law; republication for commercial purposes requires the rights holder’s permission.
13. Complaints and dispute resolution
For complaints, contact info@leclat.gr so we can seek a solution. You may also contact the Greek Consumer Ombudsman, if the dispute falls within its remit. Your access to the competent courts or other competent authorities is not restricted.
Greek law applies, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules and applicable international jurisdiction rules. Changes to these terms apply to future orders and do not retrospectively alter agreements under an existing contract.
